Sant’Andrea della Valle, Piazza Farnese, Castel Sant’Angelo: “LA TOSCA” a walk about in the haunts of the doomed heroine Tosca, who inspired the great opera by Giacomo Puccini.

11:00 am – 13:00 pm

Enjoy the historic shops of Rome, craft and food markets as the picturesque Campo dei Fiori Market. Visit the Pantheon, the most perfect edifice surviving from antiquity, the temple of all the gods constructed by Augustus to commemorate a time off peace and stability but which stirred the wrath of jealous god Mars.

Pick up at Villa Silj and transfer to Villa di Livia for a guided visit of this beautiful archaeological site Villa di Livia in Prima Porta, which used to be in the park of Lemniscati, was the beloved residence of Augustus’s wife. A place of extraordinary historical and archaeological relevance, still capable of telling a story. In fact it is a classic example of non-urban dwellings conceived as landed property destined for productive activities as well as for nursing homes and otiums and as the right place to cultivate studies and interests, far from the chaotic activities of the city.
13:00 pm Back to Villa Silj – Lemniscati for lunch

WINE AND OPERA ROME /BLERA / LAKE BRACCIANO

Visit an award-winning winery featuring a beautiful cathedral of wine built as part of the project conceived by the Order of Architects of Rome in collaboration with Gambero Rosso called “Architecture and Wine: the meeting of two cultures.” The vines and then the cellar where we will know the winemaking processes, from the collection of the grapes to the bottling.

Guided tour of Sutri with the amphitheater and caves

Sutri is a town of ancient origins with remains and monuments of the Etruscan and Medieval times, which attest its strategic importance.

In correspondence of the inhabited area we find the Amphitheater, one of the most evocative ancient monuments of Lazio dating from the first century. B.C. and the first years of the next one, dug completely into the tuff. The town is also known for the discovery of an Etruscan necropolis formed by dozens of tombs dug into the tufa, Etruscan walls incorporated by the Medieval ones, a mithraeum incorporated by a church (Madonna del Parto), a cathedral of Romanesque origin.

The caves in this area were the birthplace of medieval hero Orlando (Roland) son of Charlemagne, whose life and adventures have been celebrated in Europe, almost as much as king Arthur.
